Why do I need to upload the software if Gen-i has packaged the software previously?This is so we can ensure the .MSI is built with your exact installation media. Many software vendors distribute their installation media with a hard coded serial number that needs to match what has been purchased. We also need to take these measures to ensure that you have a licensed copy of the software to be packaged, before we can provide the .MSI version of the requested install.
The upload step does not work for me, what might be wrong?The upload service uses Java and therefore requires the Java Runtime environment installed on your PC. This can be found at: http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp
I am happy with my package but what happens if I request changes to the .MSI/.MST in the future?If you require minor changes to your package, we can do these for you. Charges for these services will be at the normal rate for updating packages.
What is the largest size of install media that can be uploaded?Gen-i can accommodate up to 1Gb per package request. If your install media is larger than this, please contact packaging@gen-i.com.au to arrange an alternative transfer method.
What is the recommended format for uploading files?Although an uncompressed format is accepted it will take longer. Zip compression delivers the best results.
What if there is an error uploading files?If you encounter any errors uploading your files, please email packaging@gen-i.com.au. If there are any website error messages please include these in your email.
