Phil Varney is General Manager of Gen-i Australia, responsible for the execution of Gen-i’s strategy for growth in Australia, with a focus on managed ICT services for the mid-market, particularly Trans-Tasman clients.

Phil’s experience includes managing complex outsourcing transactions, direct and indirect sales, customer service and strategic consulting in Europe, the USA and now Australia.

Phil came to Gen-i from his own UK-based business consulting company, Acadia West. In this role, Phil provided specialist business and commercial strategy, executive coaching and sales force effectiveness programs for clients in the telecommunications, commercial and manufacturing sectors.

Prior to this Phil was with BT for 9 years in a number of senior leadership positions, his last role was as Vice President of BT Global Solutions in North America, where he worked on some of the largest and most complex deals in BT’s history. He has also held Senior management roles at Motorola and Mars.

Phil now lives in Sydney with his family, is a keen photographer and is enjoying exploring Australia and New Zealand.
