The IDC Brand Awareness survey released today shows that Gen-i has sustained its position as the most preferred IT company in New Zealand. This result complements IDC’s IT Services Tracker, released last week, which reveals that Gen-i has sustained its No.1 position in IT services marketshare.
IDC’s annual survey of Brand Awareness for IT providers shows that Gen-i increased overall mindshare in 2007, moving up two points from 2006.
Gen-i first took pole position in the Brand Awareness survey in 2006. The survey monitors the views of over 200 CIOs or C-level employees from New Zealand companies, and asks respondents to rank who they think are the top 5 IT companies in New Zealand.
The IT Services Tracker shows that Gen-i achieved an overall 12.4 per cent market share for the six-month period to December 2006, consolidating its position as the market leader. The services market as a whole was worth $2.4 billion in 2006.
Gen-i first took the top spot in mid-2004, and has now held pole position over five consecutive semi-annual Tracker reports, covering a two-and-a-half year period. The latest Tracker shows that Gen-i increased or maintained its ranking in 14 out of 16 service categories and was ranked No 1 in five out of 16 categories.
Gen-i’s General Manager, Chris Quin, says the result flows from the company’s decision to deliver the full spectrum of ICT services and the ongoing focus on building strong and sustained relationships with customers.
“We’ve spent the last three years building a capability that spans the technology and telecommunications sectors, offering a truly end-to-end service and capability,” said Quin. “That has involved a substantial investment in the integration of resources and people needed to make our customer engagements simpler, faster and more effective.
“However, our ability to deliver an end-to-end ICT solution, or any individual component, is only one part of our success. Equally important is our ability and willingness to take the time to understand each client’s business, and build a roadmap for the future that can help our clients achieve their short and long-term business objectives.
“Clients value that type of partnering,” Quin continued. “And many are now signalling their trust in Gen-i by asking us to deliver a full range of services across voice, data, internet and mobile. We respect that trust and regard it as our responsibility to deliver leadership, solutions and real value.
“We will continue to focus on building strong and sustained relationships with customers and showing them how converged ICT services can help them achieve the goals they set themselves in business.”
