Gen-i relocates and rationalises critical data centre for leading financial institution.

The Challenge

The client’s data centre, which hosted the production servers and disaster recovery facility, needed to be relocated into new, purpose-built premises.

Gen-i’s Solution

To reduce the risks associated with relocation, Gen-i developed a design and implementation plan with staged deliverables. Initially, this meant establishing the redundant core infrastructure at the new site. This was then followed by the migration of all application platforms and systems not rationalised or decommissioned, the installation of new and upgraded applications, and assuming responsibility for the management of all carriers.

The Results

The successful relocation of the data centre was completed on time, within budget and to a high standard. The transition from one location to another was seamless, with no disruptions to the business’s access to applications and services, ensuring no loss of productivity.
